What This Assessment Measures

Being a kind, empathetic manager is a strength. But there is a line where kindness turns into avoidance — where your desire to be liked starts undermining your team's performance, your credibility, and ultimately the people you are trying to protect.

This assessment measures five specific patterns that indicate you may be too soft: weak boundary setting, accountability gaps, conflict avoidance, people pleasing, and decision hesitation. Each pattern has different consequences and different fixes.

You will be presented with 15 realistic management scenarios and asked how you would respond. Each scenario maps to one of the five dimensions. Your results include an overall score, a breakdown across all five dimensions, personalized insights, and recommended reading.

A high score does not mean you are a bad person — it means your empathy is running unchecked. The best managers are not the toughest or the nicest. They are the ones who know when to be firm and when to be flexible. Understanding your patterns is the first step to finding that balance.

This assessment is designed for self-reflection and personal development. It is not a clinical instrument, a personality test, or a substitute for professional coaching. If you are struggling with management challenges that feel overwhelming, consider working with a leadership coach or mentor.
