What This Assessment Measures

Imposter syndrome affects up to 70% of people at some point in their careers, and the transition into management is one of the most common triggers. You are suddenly responsible for other people's work, careers, and wellbeing — and a voice in your head keeps whispering that you are not qualified to do any of it.

This assessment measures how imposter syndrome specifically manifests in your role as a new manager. It is not a clinical diagnostic tool — it is a structured self-reflection that helps you understand which patterns of self-doubt are present and how strongly they are affecting your leadership.

You will be presented with 15 realistic management scenarios and asked how you would think, feel, or respond. Each scenario maps to one of five research-backed dimensions: Self-Doubt, Attribution Bias, Comparison Trap, Perfectionism, and Fear of Exposure. Your results include an overall imposter syndrome score, a breakdown across all five dimensions, personalized insights, and recommended reading.

A high score does not mean you are a bad manager. In fact, research suggests that people who experience imposter syndrome are often highly competent — their self-perception just has not caught up with reality. Understanding where and how imposter syndrome shows up is the first step to managing it.

This assessment is designed for self-reflection and personal development. It is not a clinical instrument, a mental health diagnosis, or a substitute for professional support. If imposter syndrome is significantly impacting your wellbeing, consider speaking with a therapist or coach.
